  Oysters were excellent both times & mains matched. Flounder was exquisite. Home made cheesecake was excellent. Also went 2 what was touted as best seafood in Coffs & it wasn't a patch on Matildas. PFG.

  I took my son and his girlfriend to dinner at Matilda's. the service was great, and the food was delicious. We had lobster and Balmain bugs. the Lobster was cooked to perfection. I would recommend this restaurant for people that love seafood, although there is a good selection of other meals. booking is a must and alcohol is not sold on the premises, but you can BYO. we had a hreat night.

  Just celebrated a birthday, with friends, and we all found the food excellent along with the service. The outstanding dish was the Creme Brule and the plating was lovely.

  This is a rare gem. Owner and Chef, Kel, puts so much care into each plate. We had a night we will never forget, and from the expressions on all the other diners, we were not alone. As a Sydney-sider, I can safely say I have never had a meal so delicious or filling in my 43 years. My mother had duck and I had sirloin with Morton Bay Bugs, and both were inventive and as my mother said "unspeakably amazing". The warm chocolate hazelnut cake and creme brûlée for dessert were both divine. I've read some of the not-so-positive reviews on here and I really don't understand them. Maybe some people don't know what a homemade berry coulis actually tastes like (reviewer referring to it as "like something from a bottle from the supermarket"). Kel's care and passion for food and the time he clearly puts into preparation should be treasured. This is a destination restaurant.

  Excellent. Good food. Great service. Totally child friendly. Staff were wonderful. If in Nambucca Heads, have dinner there. Lovely atmosphere too. Very chilled out and soothing.
